If you are new to the blogging world, you might be wondering ... Why "follow" a blog?
Well, following a blog has several benefits. First, it shows that you are a fan of that blog and support the content. Secondly, and even more importantly, it allows you to keep up-to-date with the blogs that you are genuinely interested in. Once you have followed a blog, you can go to a website or an app and read all of the blogs that you follow without having to type in the url address of each one. Quite handy ... Don't you think?
You can follow many blogs by clicking on the "Join This Site" located in the sidebar. Once upon a time, all of the blogs that you followed in this way were collected in Google Reader. But, Google has JUST dropped Google Reader. So, if you join through Google Friend Connect, you need to go to your Blogger dashboard to read your blogs. Not everyone is thrilled with that. So what to do??
Never fear, thanks to Laura Candler at Corkboard Connections, I discovered a new way to follow and read all of my favorite blogs ... Blog Lovin'. I love BOTH their website and their app. If you want to follow The Library Patch, look over there ... to the right ... down a little bit. There ya go ... see that button for Bloglovin'? Well, go ahead and click on it! You never know when you can use words of wisdom from this crazy elementary school librarian :)
Hey, while you are out their checking this new reader out ... you should check out some new teacher blogs too! We have so much that we can learn from each other. Click on the pix below to be transported to Corkboard Connections and her "Goin' on a Blog Hunt". There is a wonderful list of educational blogs that you won't want to miss. As a librarian, I was delighted with her title for this link-up! I have been singing the "Goin' on a Bear Hunt" song for an hour :) It's probably good and stuck in my head for the day now. LOL!
